Deceptive Times
DECEPTIVE TIMES Red Street can't help himself. He's a washed up, foul mouthed, overweight chain smoking charter boat captain living beyond his means. Whew! The only thing going for him is his younger brother, Harry. A retired Navy Seal Commander who downright loves him. In this modern-day adventure, an organized political terrorist group––not disclosing their true motivation to detonate a nuke––blackmails Red to transport a schmuck named Smith on his charter to Mayaguana island, a remote atoll deep in the Bahamas. The catch, he cannot declare him through customs or go to the police. After piecing the clues together, Tom, the first mate calls Harry, for he knows he is the only man on God's green earth that can help them. After packing specialized diving equipment and weapons into his twin-engine seaplane, Harry Street embarks on a one-way journey across a vast ocean. Little does he realize, his plan to stow away on his brother's vessel when they stop at Mayaguana for supplies and then terminate the terrorists has a major obstacle. He must swim through one of the most shark-infested bodies of water on the planet. Will Street endure? Can he weather the incredible truth buried deep below the island's eerie past? Or, will the terrorists succeed? DECEPTIVE TIMES is the first in a series of four completed novels. Harry Street's powerful, crafty, yet caring character is similar to Barry Eisler's John Rain, or Robert Ludlum's, the Bourne Identity, of course with a distinct twist. Harry Street has a special gift.

About the Author

When Matthew Liburdi is not underwater scuba diving, deep sea fishing or watching over clients in some tropical local, he has his head to the grindstone writing. He likes all genres. He has six completed novels. One has been published along with a handful of short stories for scuba dive magazines. Matthew was the owner of Liburdi’s Scuba Center, a five thousand square foot super store in Southern California. He was the editor/publisher of a monthly dive club newspaper. Unfortunately, he was forced to close the doors during the economic crunch in 2009. Matthew then opened XCLUSIVE CHARTERS, a scuba/fishing/spearfishing/yachting consulting business and LIBURDI SCUBA EQUIPMENT REPAIR, a full service repair facility. Matthew has also started writing his first non-fiction – THROUGH THE EYES OF MY SONS – about a good father who painfully watches his two boys follow the path of destruction after a brutal divorce from his delusional, drug addicted and overbearing ex-wife.
