About the Author

JESSICA DAY GEORGE is the New York Times bestselling author of Tuesdays at the Castle, Wednesdays in the Tower, Thursdays with the Crown, Fridays with the Wizards, and Saturdays at Sea, as well as the Twelve Dancing Princesses series and the Dragon Slippers trilogy. Originally from Idaho, she studied at Brigham Young University and worked as a librarian and bookseller before turning to writing full-time. In the fourth book “Castle Glower” book, twelve-year-old Celie is craving nothing more than time at home with her family and pet griffin, in order to recover from her previous adventures. Unfortunately for Celie, her plans for relaxation are interrupted at every turn. First, there is her older sister’s surprise engagement that means never-ending dress fittings for Celie and constant preparations for yet another journey. Then the dangerous wizard Arkwright escapes from his castle cell, causing panic. Celie may be the only one who understands Castle Glower’s secrets well enough to track him. Although the book starts slowly, readers will be racing to finish this light-hearted adventure. While not quite on the level of “Harry Potter” or the “Narnia” series, the “Castle Glower” series compares favorably to other humorous fantasies, such as Gail Carson Levine’s Ella Enchanted and Jenny Nimmo’s “Charlie Bone” series. However, it is worth noting that this particular adventure occurs mid-series and does not work well as a stand-alone read. The author jumps straight into the story, with little character development or explanation of the setting, assuming readers are familiar with them by this fourth title.
