He has written about sports, music, and culture for the New York Times, ESPN: The Magazine, and Time, among others. He lives in New York, and ping pong brings out his violent side.

Eli Horowitz designs and edits books for McSweeney's. After a childhood spent consistently losing at ping pong to his father and brother in their Virginia basement, he now lives in San Francisco.

He is the coauthor of The Clock Without a Face, a treasure-hunt mystery; Everything You Know Is Pong, an illustrated cultural history of Ping-Pong; and The New World, a collaboration with Chris Adrian.
