Based in Japan, Shigeru Ban (b. 1957) is a rising star among young, world-class architects. This book documents 32 projects, including 15 new projects begun since 2001 in Japan, China, the US and France. Ban is renowned for practicing 'green' architecture—building experimental structures with paper and paper tubes, as well as recyclable and affordable natural materials. The unique design of the book reflects these experiments with paper. This book also includes technical data sections documenting Ban's original research.
