About the Author

Chris lives in Danvers, Massachusetts, in the neighborhood where the Salem Witch Trials occurred. He lives there with his wife, daughter, son, and two cats, Molly and Murray, and enjoys spending time with his family. When Chris is not writing, he is busy teaching middle school students in Natick, Massachusetts, reading, playing guitar, or learning more about his favorite subject, American history.

Elizabeth Raum has written over two-dozen nonfiction books for young readers, including a biography of Louis Armstrong for Capstone Press. Over the years, she has worked as a middle school and high school English teacher, an elementary school librarian, and a college library director. Elizabeth Raum has written many nonfiction books for children. Two of her Capstone You Choose books, Orphan Trains: An Interactive History Adventure (2011) and Can You Survive Storm Chasing? (2012), are Junior Library Guild selections. Elizabeth lives in Michigan with her husband, Richard.

Heather E. Schwartz writes books for kids from her home in upstate New York. She loves writing because she loves learning new things, brainstorming creative ideas, and moving words around on a page. In her spare time, she runs a website for young writers (WriteintheMiddle.co). She also enjoys baking cookies in fun shapes, throwing holiday parties, walking in the woods, eating cider donuts, and spending time with her family.

Kathy Allen has published over one dozen books for children. She has previously worked as an editor and in marketing for children's library book publishers. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota. Allen lives with her husband and their son in Minneapolis.
