About the Author

Byron Walden is a math professor at Santa Clara University. His puzzles regularly appear in the New York Times and the Onion. He created the final puzzle in the climactic scene of the 2006 documentary Wordplay. Byron lives in San Francisco with his wife, Robin, his son, Harrison, and a dog named Dash.
