Entice Early Readers with Exciting New Chapter Book Series!

The Fix-It Friends: Have No Fear!, by Nicole C. Kear
“Have no fear” is one of my aspirations in life, so this book is right up my alley! Seven-year old Veronica Conti has figured out a few things, from the silly (peas taste better with whipped cream on them), to the more profound (everyone has problems, even worms). When Veronica discovers that her friend Maya is totally terrified of bugs, she sets out to help her conquer her fear. When Veronica succeeds she decides she wants to start a club to help others conquer their fears too, hence “The Fix-It Friends.” This book is great for little worriers, and their anxious parents!

Wallace and Grace Take the Case (Wallace and Grace series #1), by Heather Alexander and Laura Zarrin 
Wallace and Grace are two mystery solving owls from the Night Owl Detective Agency. In their first case, Edgar the rabbit swears that he’s seen a white floating ghost in the garden. Sounds spooky, but don’t worry there’s a logical and very cute solution hiding nearby! In the second book in the series, Wallace and Grace and the Cupcake Caper, Monty the chipmunk has a big problem: someone stole his cupcake! Luckily the owl detectives are on the case gathering clues and interviewing witnesses. A cupcake caper sounds like a delicious case to me! Yum!

Octo-Man and the Headless Monster (Escapades of Clint McCool series #1), by Jane Kelley and Jessika von Innerebner
The first book in this fun new series stars self-named Clint McCool (his given name is Walter, after his grandfather). As you can imagine from his name, Clint has a ton of personality, a lot of ideas, and tends to find himself in extraordinary circumstances (on the Octo-Man film set for one!) This book zips along at a fast pace to keep kids engaged. If your young reader speeds through and is eager for more cool adventures, they can check out book two in the series: Ray Man and the Freaky Flood.

Crash! (The Kid from Planet Z Series, #1), by Nancy Krulik and Louis Thomas 
This hilarious book starts with a bang! Zeke Zander and his mom, dad, and wise cat Zeus wind up crashing into Earth when their space ship loses power. Earth is a lot different than their home, Planet Z, and adjusting proves to be a challenge. If your young reader thinks fitting in at school is hard, imagine doing it with two antennae coming out of your head! And to make matters worse, in the sequel, Don’t Sneeze!,  Zeke comes down with the flu. When zeebops get the flu, it’s anything but ordinary (think green goo coming out of his eyes and mouth!). 

Return to the Scene of the Burp (George Brown, Class Clown Series, #19), by Nancy Krulik and Aaron Blecha 
The George Brown, Class Clown series is perfect for reluctant readers who like gross-out books! Plus, there are lots of books to choose from. In the 19th installment, George wants to cure his huge super magic burps, which are making “a mess of things” for him. He decides to investigate at Ernie’s Ice Cream Emporium, where the trouble began. Will George be able to solve “The Case of the Baffling Burp” before it’s too late?
