    Herbert Woodfield Paul (1853–1935) was an English writer and Liberal Member of Parliament. Educated at Eton College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford, he became MP for Edinburgh South in 1892. He is the author of a number of books, including Men and Letters (1901), Gladstone (1901), Matthew Arnold (1902), A History of Modern England (1904-6), and Life of Froude (1905).
