Barbara Dana is the author of several books for young readers, including ZUCCHINI, winner of Minnesota’s Maud Hart Lovelace award and New Mexico’s Land of Enchantment Children’s Book award, and NECESSARY PARTIES, an ALA Best Book for Young Adult. And actress as well as a writer, Ms. Dana has appeared in several films on television and on the stage. It was while playing the starring role in a production of Joan of Lorraine that she felt the need to tell Joan’s sory. YOUNG JOAN was the result. Ms. Dana lives in Connecticut with her husband Alan Arkin. They have three sons.
Barrett Whitener has recorded audiobooks since 1992. His recordings have won several awards, including the Audio Publishers Association’s Audie and four Earphones Awards. AudioFile cited him as among "the best voices of the century." He lives in Washington, D.C.
