About the Author

Kimberly A. Jackson grew up in Montana, and fell in love with the islands during a family trip to Honolulu as a child. She hoped to return sometime and make the islands her home. She received a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude from Arizona State University and received a Juris Doctor degree with high honors from the University of Montana. Since 1994 she has been a practicing attorney for Cades Schutte Fleming & Wright's Kailua-Kona office. "Humu" was inspired by her swims in the Kona Bay and questions from her four-year-old daughter, Keli.
