Cry of the Heart
Cry of the Heart is a fictional memoir that tells the story of a female Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG) officer, Pauline Vickers, from her graduation from law school until her retirement from the JAG Corps 20 years later. Pauline's story is told through the yearly no-husbands, no-kids weekends that gather together Pauline and five of her law school friends. Her story takes her from the invasion of Panama in 1989 to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2007; it describes her relationships with other JAG Corps officers (heroes and not such heroes) and her relationship with a South African Doctors Without Borders aid worker; and it chronicles the evolution of the lives of Pauline and her law school friends over the course of 20 years. It is a story of woman looking for atonement who finds redemption, a woman in turmoil, who finds for peace.

About the Author

Daughter of an Army officer, Rlynn Johnson herself retired from the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps after serving on active duty for 20 years. Every year (when they can make it happen), Rlynn and 5 of her law school buddies get together to drink wine, tell lies, and solve the world's problems. She is the proud parent of a fabulous daughter (second generation Army brat!), a 90-pound Lab mix, and a Humane Society cat.
