Tyler West is only a few weeks from transfer when there is a crisis aboard the USS Miller. A shipmate is violently struck down, and the attacker slips into hiding among the crew. The ship is put into lockdown – all crew members are confined to their quarters. Tyler is given the task of finding evidence, and he begins to uncover far more than what he bargained for; he learns the officers and the NIS may be concealing information that has put many men in danger. Meanwhile, the ship’s captain, Commander Henry Jorgenson, struggles to keep his crew safe while trying to live up to the legacy of a WWII hero for whom the ship was named.

About the Author

Scott Black was born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1964. He attended Middletown North High School where he played football and started dating his life-long partner and wife DeAnna; they had actually been in the same Kindergarten class way back in 1970. Upon graduation Scott joined the United States Navy and served eight years; after military service, he worked his way through college, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and has held various engineering and management positions in several manufacturing companies; corporate life has offered many opportunities to travel the world, and Scott has visited more than thirty countries. He and DeAnna have two daughters: Victoria and Kate.
