Paper Cone Angel Craft
This cute angel can sit as a central dinner table decoration, as a seating arranger (just write the name of each person on an angel and set them on the plates) or you can put her on top of a small Christmas tree!
MATERIALS:
printer
paper
glue or tape
scissors
OPTIONAL: 1/2 large paper doily or 1/2 circle of white paper OPTIONAL: glitter glue, sparkles, sequins, lace or markers
INSTRUCTIONS:
Print out the template on the next page.
Color as necessary and cut out the template pieces.
Cut the doily in half (so you have a half circle)
OR
Cut a piece of white paper into a circle and then cut it in half. If you use paper, you can glue cotton balls on it to decorate it a bit.
OPTIONAL: add glitter glue, sparkles or sequins to decorate the wings.
Cut out the half circle from the template.
Pull the one edge over to the one that says GLUE HERE to make a cone shape.
Tape or glue so it holds
Glue the doily onto the back of the cone
Glue the head onto the top of the cone and the arms onto the side Decorate the cone as desired with sparkles, glitter glue, sequins or lace.

Popsicle Stick Angel
You can use regular popsicle sticks or use craft sticks for a larger version
Materials:
11 popsicle sticks
glue
small photo of child OR round, flat wooden circle OPTIONAL: gold or silver or white paint or glitter glue
Instructions:
OPTIONAL: paint the popsicle sticks and let dry. It looks nice if the dress (5 sticks) is gold or silver and the wings (6 sticks) are white.
Make the dress (5 popsicle sticks):
Take 2 popsicle sticks and glue them together in a fan shape
Take 2 more popsicle sticks and make a fan shape in the opposite direction
Push the two fans side by side and glue the last popsicle stick on top to make a dress shape
Make two wings (3 popsicle sticks each)
Put three popsicle sticks together in a fan shape to make one wing
Put three popsicle sticks together in a fan shape to make the second wing
Assemble the angel
Glue both wings on either side of the dress
Cut a photo of the child (cut around the head) and glue onto the top OR
Glue a flat, wood circle onto the top and paint on facial features if desired
Glue a piece of thread or ribbon onto the back so you can hang it on the tree!
Painted Ornaments
Before I start the instructions, I'll give you a bit of background. We are going to paint the INSIDE of the ornaments... you won't need paintbrushes or anything. This gives an intriguing result (grandma will wonder how it was done! and the kids will enjoy explaining the process). It also prevents any scratching of the paint -- these ornaments should last forever!
Materials:
Clear glass ornaments (ours were under 50 cents from Walmart)
Acrylic paint -- we bought 5 bottles of paint in different colors, two metallic and three normal. This was enough for 20 ornaments and cost $8.00. The metallic has a nice sparkle to it
Newspaper to cover the table
Instructions:
Acrylic paint does not wash out of clothes, so cover up or wear old clothes. If you do get some in the clothes, work on getting it out before it dries (acrylic paint dries in less than an hour so be quick)
ADULT: take the top off the ornament. Just tug a bit until it's out about 1/4 way. There should be two extended wires that are holding the top on. Pinch those together and the top will come out the rest of the way very easily.
