About the Author

Martino Black is a retired principal with the NYC Board of Education. He earned a B.A. degree in sociology from Lincoln University, Pa., a Masters degree in Urban Elementary Education from City College of the City University of New York, and a second Masters in Educational Administration and Supervision from Baruch College of the City University of New York. Since retiring, Mr. Black has worked as a per session consultant in Community School District IV where he served as principal, and more recently with the NYC Department of Education, NCLB/SES Implementation Office. He lives in Queens, NY with his wife, Millie, and his youngest daughter, Kim.
