Mommy's Baby
This poem tells about a woman who is expecting a child. She is so in love with her little baby that she talks with it all the time. She wants the baby to know that the mommy loves and loves it. Even in her dreams, the mother sees and talks to her baby.
The mother tells the baby that she just can't wait to hold her child in her arms. She will do all kinds of things with the baby when it gets here. Mommy can even see the baby crawling all over the floor within a few months. Then, Mommy can see the little one as a toddler, pulling up on things and starting to walk. Of course, her little baby falls down, but it gets right up again. And, Mommy is right there to keep the little one from getting hurt.
Mommy doesn't want to know whether the baby is a boy or girl. She'll find that out soon enough. That will be another of the blessings of the little one's arrival, to learn whether boy or girl has come to bless Mommy.
Oh, what love Mommy has for her baby! Oh, she just can't keep from telling the baby that, over and over and over. What a day when her baby is right there in here arms. Kisses and kisses and kisses. What a treasure! What a jewel! She'd rather have her baby than all the gold in the whole, wide world.
Yes, just a few more months. Every morning, Mommy says, "One day less, my baby, one day less until I have you in my arms. Oh, how Mommy loves you, and loves you, and loves you, my sweet, little one."
