Reborn In Adversity: A Tale of Trauma, Abuse, and Resilience
This true life story is written to help others understand how some vulnerable children can become invincible. In a world where many vulnerable children succumb to risk, this work integrates at risk and resiliency research into real life responses and insights. The author explores the development of resiliency traits and includes the processes of accessing external resources and forming healthy support systems.

Reborn in Adversity describes the journey one young girl makes as she seeks to self-actualize amidst multiple risk factors or packages. Raised in an abusive, hypocritical, and assaultive family, the author is faced with crisis after crises along each milestone of life. Once she leaves her abusive family, the risks and crises multiply in magnitude and number. In this journey she exhibits multiple resiliency traits that allow at risk children to rebound from adversity. Her life story is an example of thriving in adversity, and it provides insights into how she was able to resist succumbing to risk and be true to her self. It details how surrogates, mentors, spirituality, education, and more help her learn to adapt to the crises and grow from them.

Teachers, therapists, victims, family, community resilience programs, ministry workers, and others can all gain insights in the realm of resiliency as seen from the inside out instead of the outside in.
