I, Alien

Marc de Lugg is a 30ish nebbish, a failed sci-fi writer with a dead end job and a philandering wife living in a mobile home in Nevada. So, naturally when he’s abducted by aliens, it’s almost a relief. In contrast to his life on Earth, the denizens of the planet find him admirable, loveable – indeed they consider him “The Chosen One.”

Marc thinks they’ve got the wrong guy but he’s happy to accept their devotion. However, they have one fervent request for him – go on a death defying mission on Earth to rescue one of their fellows held kidnapped by a crazy American Army general on a secret military base. Marc is terrified but agrees for fear of letting down another planet. Will Marc ever find his guts? Will life ever be the same after his mission a trillion miles away from Earth?

About the Author

Emmy Award Winning Executive Producer and Writer Robert Illes (Carol Burnett&Friends; Sanford&Son; Motown Revue Featuring Smokey Robinson; Silver Spoons; Amen; Family Matters; Sister, Sister, Disney's Recess...) and artist/musician Daniel Zimmerman first teamed their talents at the age of ten growing up in the same pre-historic South Central Los Angeles, California block creating comic books for their friends. Sadly, Daniel's family, like many other families of that era, made an Exodus out of the hood and migrated to the East Coast. The two would keep in touch as Pen Pals, a visit or six and eventually via Facebook. After an IRS auditor deemed a portion of Robert's esteemed television writing career a "hobby," (coincidentally, the NBC years...), he realized he needed to make his writing work for him without appearing as "fun" to the government. He accurately chose novel writing. However, Robert couldn't resist the entertainment element, and reached out to his old illustrating bestie to partner with him in a special new type of graphic novel which he'd created from a series he'd scripted some time ago for a television program that got scrapped at the last minute by the Hollywood Powers That Be (coincidentally, after he'd called his old writing-colleague-turned-nemesis, -NBC underboss and creator of Saturday Night Live- Lorne Michaels a d*** at a tribute dinner for the great Norman Lear).
