About the Author

James J. DeCristofaro is the founding principal of DCL Firm (DeCristofaro Law) and has been practicing law in New York for about fifteen years. He graduated from Georgetown Law in 2001. Before starting this firm, he practiced in the New York offices of several prominent international law firms, including Curtis-Mallet, Lovells (now Hogan Lovells), and Morrison & Foerster, where he worked with some of the top attorneys in the world. Away from the office and courtroom, James is divorced with a bright, talented, and energetic daughter. He appreciates all of the vibrancy that New York has to offer—regularly meeting new people and socializing, trying new restaurants, and patronizing museums, theaters, and cultural centers. He also believes in keeping physically fit and traveling. He takes boxing classes several days per week, regularly practices yoga, and enjoys other types of fitness including cycling, tennis, and swimming.
