From African addax to South American vicua, Mr. DuBosque prefaces each of the 29 series of sketches with the animal's Latin name, size, and brief description of its physical and behavioral characteristics.

Gr 4-7DuBosque has created yet another title that will please and help young artists. Most animals are given a double-page spread that includes written instructions and a series of sketches beginning with ovals representing heads and bodies and proceeding gradually to a finished drawing. A clock face shows the angles of the ovals. Together, the written directions and sketches present a simple but specific lesson that will inspire confidence. Twenty-nine animals are illustrated, including a caracal lynx, a scorpion, and a bactrian camel.
