Nawar Shora is a highly sought-after public speaker who has given lectures and seminars to thousands of people over the past decade. In March 2010, as reported in the Washington Post, he was selected to serve in the Trans- portation Security Administration as a "senior adviser for its office of civil rights and liberties."

In his public events, Nawar speaks about Arabs and Muslims—their norms, mores, cultures, pop culture, history, current events as well as the public perceptions and misperceptions of individuals belonging to or thought to belong to these groups.

Nawar has participated in two federal government training videos as a subject matter expert. Shora has spoken to federal, state, and local law enforcement groups. His private sector appearances include churches, interfaith groups, and major corporations.

He has also served as a guest lecturer at numerous universities and academic institutions, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), and the FBI Academy. Nawar's efforts have been recognized with awards from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Washington, DC Metro Police Department, and many others.
