Sacrifice: The Altar of Obedience: Jehovah's Witnesses and Blood Transfusions
In the United States, it is estimated that thousands of Jehovah's Witness' adults and children die for refusing blood transfusions on an annual basis. At this writing, the Watchtower occupies 233 countries where thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses refuse blood transfusions; and yes, countless continue to die.

Because the Watchtower is believed to speak for Jehovah God, the Jehovah's Witnesses render full obedience to Watchtower teaching. To reject the "council" of the Watchtower is to reject the "council" of Jehovah God Himself. This is the authority that drives the Jehovah's Witnesses to unquestioned obedience to the Watchtower organization – even to the point of death.

The purpose of this book is to first help the reader understand how the Watchtower is able to
convince their Witnesses that receiving blood transfusions is a punishable offense sanctioned by Jehovah God; second, to have the Jehovah's Witnesses take a look at the Watchtower's position on this teaching probably never known before; third, to give the Witnesses free-thinking positions to consider.

Jehovah's Witnesses and non-Witnesses alike have the right to refuse medical treatment – even a blood transfusion; however, matters such as this should be made out of one's own free will. No one, including religious institutions (such as the Watchtower Society), has the right to impose their wills on others by the use of guilt and fear – specifically when it comes to choosing medical advice. The purpose of this book is not to convince anyone to take a blood transfusion. The author's focus is to have the reader evaluate the contents, check the citations, come to their own conclusions and make their own decisions.

About the Author

Daniel Rodriguez attended LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles, CA and entered the fulltime ministry in 1987. In 1995, he was ordained with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) and served as an associate pastor in San Diego, California and in Portland, Oregon. He holds a degree in psychology and specializes in cult thought reform.

Aside from his association with ICFG, Daniel’s family background is unique in that five generations of his extended family have been active in the Watchtower organization as Jehovah’s Witnesses since the 1920's. His knowledge of the Jehovah's Witnesses comes from well over 30-years of in-depth research of the Watchtower's literature and by being personally touched by its influence.

Daniel's research and work has also been endorsed by Mr. Don Nelson who was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 35-years. Mr. Nelson served as a Bethelite at the Watchtower Society's Headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, a Congregation Overseer, and as a senior Watchtower official (Circuit Overseer) in Brazil.

Today, Daniel resides in El Paso, Texas and is a member of Abundant Living Faith Center. He continues to research, write and conduct seminars nationwide on the subject of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, and cult thought reform. He has worked as a Cult Exit Counselor for over 30-years, and is the author of Winning The Witnesses, and The Watchtower’s Coming Crisis, published by Chick Publications.

Apart from his research, writing and conducting seminars, Daniel was also a piano performance major and also studied orchestral composition. Daniel is a concert musician and enjoys making digital recordings of his own piano and orchestral arrangements. His interests and hobbies include learning foreign languages. He speaks, reads and writes in both Japanese and German.
