About the Author

Scot Sellers retired as the CEO of Archstone, a Standard and Poor’s 500 company, in February 2013, after an executive career spanning over 20 years there, most of them as the company’s Chairman and CEO. During his twelve years leading Archstone as a public company, Archstone delivered a total shareholder return of over 720 percent and grew dramatically to become one of the largest publicly traded real estate companies in America. Sellers has been fascinated by human interaction since his childhood and has made this one of the cornerstones of his management style and approach to life. This down-to-earth approach to fulfillment and satisfaction in life is the emphasis of his first book, Regret-Free Living .

In sharing his career and personal journey, Scot Sellers gives practical examples and challenges us to first discover our gifts and passions and then to put them to use in a life-giving way for ourselves and our communities.”

"Scot Sellers has distilled valuable lessons from his years in leadership to create a primer on living and leading without regrets. He combines a strong message and easy-to-implement next steps with readable personal stories. I highly recommend this book to all business executives, especially those in the next generation."
Mac McQuiston
Chairman/Founder, CEO Forum

"Scot Sellers, in Regret-Free Living , emphasizes the importance of creating a worthy mission to produce sustainable success in one's professional and personal life. Readers are encouraged to engage in continuous and candid self-appraisal in order to find the intersection of their personal passions and skill sets. The book also emphasizes the need for self-improvement and taking prudent risks, recognizing that criticism and potential failure may be companions in that effort. The author's advice is analogous to Stoic philosophy—a life well-lived is more important than conventional definitions of success. Sellers provides reminders (and confirmation) for good leaders and invaluable advice to those striving to become good leaders."
Jim Hackett
Former Chairman/CEO, Anadarko Petroleum
Partner, Riverstone Holdings LLC
Former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas
