Carlton was born and grew up in the Washington, DC metropolitan area playing multiple sports on multiple teams, and was a gifted athlete both at the youth and high school level. As a result of his athletic ability, Carlton went on to briefly play college baseball, but unknowingly to Carlton at the time God had other plans for his life.
Through a series of negative life experiences and events that Carlton did not understand nor could explain at the time to include no longer continuing playing college baseball left Carlton feeling lost, discouraged, and oftentimes depressed, he decided to enter the United States Army seeking change. After only serving two years and still oftentimes feeling lost, discouraged, and depressed, the greatest life-changing experience of his life would occur in his barracks room one Friday night. This is when God personally visited Carlton by His Holy Spirit and his life has never been the same since.
Soon after Carlton’s life-changing encounter with the Holy Spirit, he married the former Sharon Peabody. They have been married for over twenty-seven years and have been blessed with two daughters. Carlton went on to retire from the United States Army as a Master Sergeant/E-8 after twenty-one years of service, earning his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership, and his Master of Science in Management. Carlton and Sharon are now Pastors of Jesus Christ International in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
