About the Author

Lois Gibson is a twenty-two-year veteran forensic artist with the Houston, Texas, police department. Recently profiled in People Magazine, Oprah Winfrey’s “O” magazine, Reader’s Digest, Dateline NBC and Unsolved Mysteries, she regularly appears on America’s Most Wanted and is also the holder of the Guinness World Record Certificate in Forensic Art. Gibson has a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Professor at Northwestern University as well as being affiliated with the FBI and U.S. Marshall’s Service. She resides in Houston, Texas, with her family.

Deanie Francis Mills is a widely published writer whose work appears in Redbook, Good Housekeeping and Parents and is the author of Torch (Penguin Putnam), Tightrope (Dutton Signet), Losers Weepers (Putnam Berkley) and Ordeal (Dutton) She resides in Hermleigh, Texas, with her family.
