Hannah Stuart is a New York educator and mother of three children of her own. She wrote Hitches and Ditches on the Erie Canal as a labor of love for her students. Ms. Stuart wanted her children to learn about the history of the Erie Canal and how it came to be, but she wanted it to be an an interesting format.

Ms. Stuart loves writing, teaching, traveling, learning about history, technology and, nor surprisingly, reading.
