Rainbow Fairies in the Glen

This children’s short story teaches Mizz and Jarck and other children to always believe what’s in their hearts. They love their farm life far from the nearest town, and can’t wait to they got off the school bus each day. They enjoy wandering around the back paddocks after they have done their daily chores. One day when they were at the glen in a distant paddock, they noticed lights dancing around the pool of water. Jarck began to skim stones across the water when Mizz told him to stop. They had noticed these lights before but had never taken to much notice until today. Mizz started to hear whispering in her ear and wondered if it could be her fairy friends. Upon establishing contact with the fairies, Mizz and Jarck decided to give them names and this was the start of a friendship between them all. The fairies decided they would help Mizz and Jarck to learn about things that most children their age didn’t get a chance to. As it was the school holidays, the children couldn’t wait to go the Glen each day as soon as their chores were done. They always asked permission to go, so their mother didn’t worry about them. Mizz’s mother quite understood as she had once encountered stories of the fairies many years ago, so she was happy to allow them to go. The fairies understood a lot about life and had watched the children each time they came to the pool. They decided it was time to start giving the children some early wisdom in the form of advice. The children in turn liked these invisible beings whose lights shone around the pool and trees, and listened quietly to what they had to say. One day they decided they would ask the fairies for help. Their father was worried about his farm and needed help but didn’t know how to get it.
