Three Stages: My Journey, Book 1
Some have called the first volume of these memoirs an "entertainment book", a "Hollywood memoir" and a "celebrity book". While it does contain a number of celebrity stories, they are all in the context of Ben Bryant's first 37 years. Born in a small Tennessee town, moving to Hollywood at 13, he attended Hollywood High then Whittier college where he played football under two future NFL greats, George Allen and Don Coryell. Abandoning his early desire to become a coach, his powerful singing voice led him into showbiz.

Ben Bryant's insider, backstage view of the inner workings of the entertainment industry at nearly every level over twenty years – in theatre, TV, Vegas, national tours, the Met opera and Broadway – captures the experience in a way that has never been seen before. Ben shared both his professional and his personal life with dozens of household names from Jack Benny to Frank Zappa.

Bryant's insightful and one-of-a-kind view of the entertainment world is panoramic, revealing and wildly entertaining.

About the Author

Born in Tennessee, Ben Bryant moved to Hollywood at 13. After college he became an actor and singer in theatre, film, TV and director in theatre.

In '70 he joined Group One Productions of Hollywood. There he developed his production skills on projects from 2 man shoots to Carole King's Central Park concert with a union crew of over 100.

Until '89 he worked in film as a producer, production manager and 1st Assistant Director. He served in one of those capacities on over 1,000 commercials and dozens of corporate films for clients including ABC-TV, AT&T, Exxon, GM, IBM, MacDonald's, Miller Beer, Porsche-Audi, P&G and Volkswagen. He also worked on features and TV movies.

In '89 he produced and directed twenty-two segments of a TV show, "Love is the Power", and a series of multi-camera "live" concerts. Since '90 he's been working solely in video and has produced approximately seventy-five half-hour TV shows, over three dozen concerts and documentaries, often writing, producing, directing, shooting and editing.

Ben has written two full length screenplays and has had several articles on editing and shooting published by Ken Stone's FinalCutPro web site. He contributed a chapter to DVisionaries' book "Transitions; Essays on the Craft of Editing". Ben finished his three volume autobiography in November 2104.

A member of the American Film Institute since '75 and the Directors' Guild of America since '79, he holds a B.A. in Theatre & Music from Whittier College.
