Overview

Published just before his election to the Presdiency of Haiti in 1991, Jean-Bertrand Aristide takes us into the world of the poor, where hope struggles to be born in the midst of horror. His book was written for the people in Central and Latin America and in the United States, “the cold country to the north,” whose shadow has fallen so fatefully over Haiti's dismal history.
