How Christians can find hope in today's world of violence and uncertainty by following the model of the Trinity.
This theological reflection on evil and suffering, violence and revenge, and identity and otherness attempts to answer an urgent question of our time: "What are we to do now that they have done this to us? How should we respond to this injury, this evil?"
The first part, titled with the metonym of September 10, situates the question of God and suffering within a long tradition of philosophical and theological reflection. After telling the story of the events of 9/11, the second part probes the relationship between violence and religion. Part 3, with the title of 9/12, draws on the writings of Miroslav Volf on reconciliation and the writings of John Zizioulas on a God of communion in order to construct a way in which Christians can live in hope, as God willed by creating us in God's image.
