Overview

To help school principals understand and solve staff problems and enrich their school cultures, Beaudoin, training director at Bay Area Family Therapy Training Associates, and Taylor, an elementary school teacher, promote a narrative approach to problem solving. In adhering to this approach, which emphasizes local knowledge and lived experience over theory, they relate the actual experiences of principals and teachers and offer suggestions for instigating change without conflict. Quotations from principals and teachers appear throughout the volume along with questions for reflection. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
