Barbara Elizabeth Zelnick spent her childhood years in an area of southern Arizona that is rich with mines and gemstones. This exposure was the beginning of a lifetime love of the beauty of minerals and the desire to share her passion with others. She was schooled in petrology, geology and gem faceting and was a member of the Gemological Institute of America. Her students came from the far reaches of the globe to avail themselves of her teaching. Since she passed away in 2011, this book will give new students the opportunity to learn what she taught in her professional lapidary: the art of faceting gemstones.
