The Psychology of a Fairy Tale
The fairy tale is remarkable in that it can contain all sides of life, including what we regard as evil: inner life, outer life, emotions, conflict, regressions, progressions; all is contained. As we will see in this story, each of these elements has its place, meaning and development toward realization. About the Author

David Hart is a Jungian analyst practicing in Swarthmore, Pa. Trained at the Jung Institute in Zurich, and with a Ph.D. from the University of Zurich, he has a special interest in the spiritual and psychological meaning of fairy tales. He has lectured extensively and led workshops on this subject. His wife, Amy Hart, is a potter, and as such sometimes collaborates with David in these sessions. We are grateful for her tape recording of the lectures, and organization of the material, on which this pamphlet is based.
