Pressures of a Black Man: Make a Change and Break the Cycle
How does one start a story? When you have no idea, I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. Everyday life and all the problems that come with it can be overwhelming by themselves, but when you factor in the color of your skin, that's when the challenge really comes. Pressures of a Black Man is a constant struggle and without our faith in God, the pressures of everyday life would be overwhelming; but being in God's favor is like taking the stress out of our days. Without God in our lives and not being in his favor, some of us could not deal with the day-to-day struggles of everyday living. Just walking down the street, minding your own business, or driving in a car is a constant battle, just because of the color of your skin. We are accused of being lazy. Why do we always have to give 120 percent to prove we are worthy?
This is a story about several Black men who are connected to each other by their up-bringing, environment, and their faith in God. These young black men gave their 120 percent to make a difference by sharing their experiences with other young Black men in their community. They hope that by sharing their experiences of everyday living with these young men, it might help them handle situations of prejudice differently and with less stress. It is not everyday that someone cares about others and their lives and want to make a difference. By giving them the knowledge that it does not have to be this way and that we are in control of our lives, we can make the difference by breaking the cycle. Why keep dong the same thing over? Make a change, break the cycle.
