Disillusioned by his work for the Los Angeles Police Department, misanthropic Charlie Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) flees the city to live an ascetic lifestyle on a remote homestead. Without warning, private investigator Lorena (Morena Baccarin), his ex-lover, arrives at his doorstep seeking his unique set of skills to look into a high-stakes murder investigation involving notorious actor Alastair Pinch (Mel Gibson).
