This first feature of Christopher Payne spotlights a bunch of young men who still play children's games. Anthony Dale is a mild mannered, yuppyish sales executive by day. By night, he is 'Spider' El Presidente of the Red Lion Pub Jolly Boys Association where women and work are not allowed. Anthony decides to give up boozing and being silly, so he proposes to upwardly mobile, out-of-town Annie. He asks his best friend Des to be his best man because he knows that if he can persuade Des to follow his example and settle down, the rest of the Jolly Boys will surely follow. But Des has other plans. The Jolly Boys Last Stand is a mild satire on fraternity and other such concepts of macho manhood.
