About the Author


PETER COWIE is a film historian who has written extensively on the work of Francis Ford Coppola, and in particular The Godfather trilogy. In 1963 he was the founder of the annual International Film Guide, which he edited for 40 years. He is the author of some 30 books, including biographies of Ingmar Bergman, Orson Welles, Louise Brooks and Francis Coppola. He was formerly International Publishing Director of the showbiz bible Variety. Since 2003, he has been a special consultant to the Berlin International Film Festival and has moderated numerous panels and symposia at many film festivals worldwide.
