About the Author

For more than a quarter of a century, Blaine Bartel has served what he believes is the hope of the world, the local church. Blaine served as the associate pastor of one of America’s largest and most innovative churches, Church on the Move in Tulsa, OK.

Blaine was also the founding youth pastor and one of the key strategists in the creation of Oneighty®, which has become one of the most emulated youth ministries in the past decade, reaching 2500 - 3000 students weekly under his leadership.

He is the founder of Thrive Communications, an organization dedicated to serving those who shape the local church. A recognized authority on young people and successful parenting, Blaine has become a best-selling author with 12 books published in several languages. He is one of the most sought after speakers in his field; more than one million people from over 40 countries have attended Blaine Bartel's live seminars or speaking engagements.

His work has been featured in major media including “The Washington Post,” CBS's "The Early Show," “The 700 Club,” “Seventeen” magazine, as well as newspapers, radio programs, and internet media worldwide.

However, Blaine’s greatest joy comes from serving the passionate community of Christians known as Northstar Church. A first generation Christian, Blaine was a 16 year old atheist when he discovered the reality and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. A local church wrapped arms of love around him and it altered his life forever. He has committed his life to building a church that will reach people who are godless, broken and lost, just like he was.

Blaine is a dedicated father of three children and a loving husband to his wife of more than 25 years, Cathy.
