About the Author

Mark Cotta Vaz's books on movie history include Industrial Light + Magic: Into the Digital Realm, which documents the second decade of George Lucas' famed visual effects house. He also worked with filmmaker Leslie Iwerks on the history of Pixar Animation Studios, which was published by Chronicle in 2005. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
John Lasseter is a two-time Academy Award-winning director and the chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Brad Bird is the writer and director of The Incredibles. He most directed and wrote the screen story for the acclaimed 1999 animated feature, The Iron Giant. He has served as executive consultant to the hit animated television series King of the Hill and The Simpsons.
