About the Author

Dr. D. Wood is a retired teacher who hails from the “Dirty South” Mississippi. Her father was a Baptist minister and her mother was a retired hospital dietitian. Often referring to her beginnings as humble, she considered her lot in life to be determined by an undisputed power. It is this power that guides her pen and substantiates the legacy of a people, her people—BlackPeople.
