About the Author

Rebecca North Younghas written five books of monologues for young actors. Regarding her inspiration for the 400+ monologues so far, she says, “I have three girls, it's all about comedy and tragedy. And a whole realm of emotions in between.” Friends and family (she won't dare say who), television, and just a plain old overactive imagination help Rebecca create a wide array of monologues to choose from. For many years, Rebecca wrote and directed drama for middle and high school students for her church. She co-founded a group called One Voice. It was a dream of hers to combine writing, acting and helping youth. Rebecca currently works in a totally "non-dramatic" profession as a technical trainer in Lexington, Kentucky. She has a BA in Communications/Marketing from the University of Kentucky. Ms. Young lives with her husband, three wonderful and dramatic daughters and a cat.
