The idea for Americania came to him after he reread George Orwell’s classic 1984 and after experiencing Big Brother’s role in health care over the last thirty years. The current political battles are, in his opinion, a result of overreaching regulations and dominating government by regulators, of regulators, for regulators. With forty thousand laws being passed by lawmakers every year, we are already a socialized nation moving into the next phase of Orwell’s predicted negative utopia.
Jerry has always admired George Orwell’s ability to envision social, political and economic evolution. The writing style that he has followed to make the transition from 1984 to 2084 to 2184 requires a reporter format predicting the evolution of our political and governmental progressive culture with excerpts of significant events along the way. The author hopes this style fits the readers’ interest and his vision to the time frame and predictions. The final product does predict peace on Earth for a while then Americania emerges as the axis of evil crossing the axis of good for the Few then the human.
