About the Author

I'm a former college professor of literature and writing who's been a freelance editor for the last 20 years. I edit academic papers, dissertations, and fiction and nonfiction manuscripts. I teach writing workshops for creatives, academics, and business professionals. I am also an artist (www.jillkellycreative.com). I have written three novels (The Color of Longing: An Unconventional Romance, Fog of Dead Souls: A Thriller, and When Your Mother Doesn't, literary fiction. ). I am also the author of a memoir, Sober Truths: The Making of an Honest Woman, which was a finalist for the prestigious Oregon Book Award, and a how-to book, Sober Play: Using Creativity for a More Joyful Recovery. I live in Portland, Oregon, with my four cats who do all the chores so I can be creative 24/7.
