About the Author


Cecil Aldin (1870-1935) began his working life as a magazine illustrator. He became famous for his sporting prints, pictures of old inns but it was his portrayals of dogs that made him world famous, it was said that he “captured the very soul of a dog”. There are now regular exhibitions of his work. His other books include The Rascal, Puppy Dogs' Tales, and Sleeping Partners.
