About the Author

Dr. John Sharry is a Child and Family Psychotherapist at the Mater Hospital Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. He is also the co-developer of the award winning Parents Plus Programmes ( video based parenting courses ) as well as the Working Things Out Programme (a multimedia therapeutic resource for young people overcoming mental health problems) which are used extensively in mental health services and schools throughout Ireland.

John is author of ten books including three professional psychotherapy books Solution Focused Groupwork, (Sage, 2001/ 2007), Becoming a Solution Detective (BT Press, 2001; Haworth 2003) and Counselling children adolescents and families (Sage, 2004). In addition, he has written over thirty articles and book chapters in the field of psychotherapy, technology and philosophy.
