About the Author

Arnold Lobel was one of those loved creators of children's books. He wrote and/or illustrated more than sixty books for children and is perhaps best known for his I Can Read Books about Frog and Toad. In 1971 Frog and Toad are Friends was named a Caldecott Honor Book. The second in the series, Frog and Toad Together, was named a 1973 Newbery Honor Book. In 1980 he recieved the Caldecott Medal for his book Fables.
