About the Author

Laurie C. Tye writes childern's books, short stories, and poetry. She teaches and intreprets for the deaf and hard of hearing. Laurie holds degrees in both education and American Sign Language. She is a graduate from Brigham Young University and has studied in Europe.

Thomas D. Mangelsen is one of the world's premier wildlife photographers.  He has a background in wildlife biology and he received an Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Photographic Society in 2002. He was also named the North American Nature Photographer of the Year in 200, and the BBC's Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 1994.
