About the Author

Dr Peter Mackereth was Clinical Lead for Complementary Therapies and Smoking Cessation as The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester prior to his retirement, and he is still involved with research and educational work there. He is a registered nurse and has worked in intensive care, neurology and oncology. Peter has published widely on complementary therapies and is a reviewer for a number of journals. Ann Carter has worked as a therapist and teacher in cancer care settings since she qualified as an Aromatherapist in 1989. She has worked as Senior Therapist and Co-Lead in Education for The Integrative Therapies Training Programme at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester. Ann runs courses for complementary therapists through the UK and Ireland.
