Description: This is the eighth edition of an atlas of examples of anatomic and physiologic variants that simulate known disease entities. It includes plain radiographs as well as some gastrointestinal and genitourinary contrast studies. The last edition was published in 2001.
Purpose: The purpose is to assist radiologists in distinguishing normal anatomic and physiologic variants from true disease entities. This book has been, and continues to be, a most valuable component of the radiology reading room.
Audience: This is a valuable reference for any practitioner who views and/or interprets radiographs. Medical students, radiology residents and fellows, and experienced subspecialty radiologists can all benefit from this comprehensive reference. The authors continue to be the leading authorities in this area.
Features: This edition continues to be most comprehensive, including radiographs from head to toe, and covering the soft tissues as well as the osseous structures. The quality of the radiographs is excellent and the descriptions are brief but suitably explanatory, as would be expected for a reference atlas. This latest edition includes some correlative CT and MR images.
