About the Author

Erik Craddock grew up during the '80s and '90s on a steady diet of comics, video games, and pop culture. He graduated summa cum laude from New York City's School of Visual Arts in 2003 with a BFA in cartooning. He also worked for some time in the field of television and movie animation. He is the author of Manga Claus: The Blade of Kringle and the popular Stone Rabbit series, and a permanent feature of the Museum of Comic and Cartooning Art.

Our hero, a feckless bunny, is off through a strange hole in his bathroom floor into a sequence of wild cartoon adventures somehow related to a mysterious bottle of barbeque sauce. Back he goes to prehistoric times to meet dinosaurs, mechanical monsters, and a Wizard of Oz-type inventor, all tumbled together into large and small spaces from comic-book style on up. A text-less, double-page scene of stampeding creatures is particularly scary. The text appears only in speech balloons and sound effects. Scenes are loaded with details that encourage closer examination rather than racing through the hyperactive adventures. Our cartoon hero must save the world from power-hungry Neanderthals; his return to the present is abrupt but a relief. This is book 1 of Stone Rabbit. Reviewer: Ken Marantz and Sylvia Marantz

He's sucked into the hole and through a time vortex of laughing clocks that dumps him in a T. Rex nest. He escapes several herds of dinos only to find himself mistaken for a god by a tribe of stoneage bunnies. When their village is destroyed and the population captured by a hightech CroMagnon named Willie, Stone Rabbit comes to the rescue (reluctantly). In gratitude, they find a way to send him home. Author of 2006's Manga Claus and a webcomic (for older people) also starring Stone Rabbit, Craddock's first graphic outing for children is Saturdaymorning cartoons all over again-bright, fullcolor, googlyeyed adventures that zip by in a rush of nonsensical fun.
