About the Author

Brian H. Bell has birded for more than 30 years. He has lived in California, Louisiana and Washington, and his travels have taken him around North America and Australia. His experience as a geographer and an environmental and energy planner paved the way for his enthusiasm for birds.

Now a full-time professional birding and natural history guide, Brian goes out birding or leads tours several times a week. He has served as president of the Washington Ornithological Society, Master Birder, and Seattle Audubon, and taught at Shoreline and North Seattle Community College.

Gregory Kennedy has been an active naturalist since he was very young. He is the author of many books on natural history, and has also produced film and television shows on environmental issues and indigenous concerns in Southeast Asia, New Guinea, South and Central America, the High Arctic and elsewhere.
